<sigh>
Didn't get to DO the baked milk challenge today.

(blast it all Smiley )

They always check DS's lung function beforehand; today his lungs are just a little bit under normal. (well, of course they are; he's been off his antihistamine for three days!)
The numbers were just the tiniest bit under normal. But because of that, the dr didn't feel it was safe to do the challenge.

So, since we drove all that way (took us 1.5 hrs -- had to make a stop since DS was carsick Smiley )I asked for some assistance with DS's chronic cough that he's had for years now. The allergist we had seen there before told me there was nothing more they could do for him wrt the wet, juicy cough.

This allergist says there IS something more that can be done --- there are a couple of ways to go with meds. We are trying one way and after a month, if no improvement, then go the other way. Her hope is that we'll get the lung function improved and then be able to challenge in July.

Hope so. Need to get some calories in this kid.

I'm sorry - but, still sound like you got some important information and advise. Hope the cough clears up - what a relief THAT would be.

More on topic, I was so upset with a doc. refusing a food challenge with my perfectly healthy younger dd that I changed offices to avoid seeing her ever again. She was a beast in other ways as well, though. Hope you're not feeling too disappointed tomorrow.

Sorry about the test delay. I do hope that the advice on the chronic cough will help
