I fear of getting humdrum with DS' lunches, and I thought it would be helpful to see a record of what I've been sending--but also to see what others send to get some new ideas.
So post what's in your child's lunchbox today--or as often as you wish.
BTW--my DS has a snack in his classroom in the morning, and they eat late--1:00, so you'll always see his snack in here, too--whatever he chooses it to be. And he's in this always hungry/never enough/growing phase. Also, on Friday, I usually send a cookie or other fun treat, although the day after his reaction (this week) I sent him a Divvies cookie as something special.
---------------------------
Today--hmmm, inordinately filled with treats
Sandwich--two slices of cheese, lettuce, cuke slices
Fizzix Yoplait Yogurt (like Gogurt)
Berry Breeze Juicy Juice (100% juice)
Milk box (for snack)
Clementine
Special K Snack bites--strawberry
Jello Pudding
String Cheese
2 Oreo mint chocolate cookies (he had one yesterday afternoon as a test)
homemade granola bar
Yesterday--what I remember of it
Sunbutter sandwich with honey and sliced bananas
container of cherry tomatoes
carrot chips (fresh, store bought)
Danimals drinkable yogurt
cheese brick
Welche's fruit snack
Clementine
Earlier this week--can't remember when
Pita with cheese, cukes, matchstick carrots, and shredded purple cabbage
Smart Start bar
grapes
Cheeze-Its package
other stuff my uncoffeed brain can't remember
How about you?

Oooo, love this thread. Good ideas! We are in the lunch duldrums these days. I never know what to pack anymore except for the same boring things. She's in 7th grade, so it has to be "in" or "cool" if you know what I mean! Half the time she doesn't eat it and eats when she gets home. Some of the things I give my DD...
A bagel with cream cheese
Pasta with sauce
Mac & Cheese
Chicken patty on a bun
Chicken patty on a bed of lettuce w/dressing
Occasional ham/cheese sandwich
Bagel Bites
Of course, half of that stuff definitely tastes better hot.
For snacks/dessert...
grapes
orange/Clementine when I have them
Quaker mini rice cakes
cookies (all safe, of course)
Rice Krispies treat bar
Smartfood popcorn
Entenmans little bites choc chip muffins
See? Lunch duldrums!

It's important that you understand that my child hates food. I refuse to pack big lunches because then I just have to throw the food out when he gets home.
Today's lunch:
Left over meat from tacos (last nights dinner)
shredded cheese to add when he eats it
Koolaid jammer
Yesterday's lunch:
Chicken soup
crackers
Koolaid jammer

Excellent thread - we're in a serious rut. It has to be something that I can throw together quickly, and keep him satisfied because he has sports after school.
Today:
Tuna/onion on whole wheat (Wonder)
Mozzarella Stick
Applesauce
Apple & Eve cranberry juice
Nutrigrain Bar
Bottled Water
Package of Goldfish for after school snack, which he supplements with something from the vending machines.

We're doing a GF experiment lately, so they're eating differently than normal (read:probably inadequately when it comes to cold lunches).
DS: Pepperoni, potato chips, broccoli w/dip, grapes, Gushers fruit snacks
DD: Cottage cheese, potato chips, broccoli w/dip, grapes, Gushers, Andes mint
They both buy milk. For snack, DS has caramel corn rice cakes and DD has string cheese. And because there's a school-wide popcorn party today for meeting a reading goal , DD has a bag of microwave popcorn and DS has a can of pop (requested/allowed by his teacher).

I think it would be helpful to know the child's age...my DS is 9 1/2, is a picky eater, eats slowly and doesn't drink much while eating...so today's lunch is...
Cinnamon-Raisin bagel with cinnamon swirl cream cheese
Applesauce Cup
Fizzix yogurt (I keep them in the freezer, they're thawed by lunch)
Homemade cookies
Handful of corn chips
Frankly, this week, his lunches have been about the same. He's happy and it's easy for me to fix. All leftover foods (and trash!) come home and I've noticed that he's not eating the chips every day. He has no snack at school but generally will have a yogurt cup when he comes home.
I always fix a main item (usually bagel but sometimes 1/2 a large sandwich), fruit (fresh or canned, whatever is on hand), a sweet snack (homemade cookies or a homemade muffin), salty snack (to encourage drinking), and yogurt (drink, cup, or Fizzix/Gogurt). Sometimes I replace the yogurt with chocolate milk (which I also freeze and is usually thawed by lunch-time).

Good point. My DS is 9, will be 10 in March.
He's never been a picky eater, has always had a broad palate. But he can't stand eating food that's supposed to be hot if it's cold (like pizza). He prefers not to take a hot lunch in a thermos, but we do that about once a month or two months anyway.

Today: Chicken Noodle Soup, banana, carrot/cucumber slices, rice krispy treat, pretzel crackers with siced jalapeno cheese
Snack" bagel with cream cheese
He's going to come home starving today. We literally don't have ANY food in our house LOL.
I hate packing lunch. He doesn't love sandwiches, but is more accepting of them lately.
He loves tacos/salsa, anything spicy. Sometimes, I give him tortillas, some seasoned hamburger meat, salsa cheese etc and he makes soft tacos.

Hmmm, lets see if I remember - seems like I packed it a long time ago!
Today was:
Swiss Cheese sandwich
Carrots
Diced Peaches
Potato Chips
Smarties
Milk - from school
Ritz Snack Mix 100 calorie pack for snack.
Yesterday was:
Hawaiian Rolls
String Cheese
Fizzit Yougurt (which came home)

DD is 13 and she always also has a safe fruit energy bar in her purse in case she gets hungry or has an after school thing and needs a snack.

MC, I wish my son (turning 10 this month) would eat a lunch like that. Today he brought:
2 bagels with sliced (processed) cheese
1 koolaid jammer (It's the only thing he'll drink at school, other then on milk days.)

DS 9 1/2, picky, will be upset when he sees his lunch today (in fact, he's eating it right now) as I replaced the bagel with a sandwich:
1/2 large sandwich (homemade white bread, mayo, ketchup, brown mustard, Buddig oven-roasted turkey)
applesauce
frozen chocolate milk (which he probably won't drink)
2 homemade sugar cookies

(He's eating it right now in the den, as he ended up staying home from school today. Seems better now. )
Ham on Whole Wheat
Stringster Twist (mozzarella & cheddar)
Dole Diced Peaches Fruit Bowl
Apple & Eve grape juice
Dare Bear Paws
Goldfish
B-o-r-i-n-g! Severe OAS keeps me from jazzing it up with veggie slices, salad, etc.

The girls pack their lunches, but for the boys I packed today:
1 12 oz Tropicana orange juice bottle
Potato chips
2 homemade mint chocolate chip cookies
1 orange quartered
baggy of Perdue chicken short cuts
I always pack a salty snack and a dessert so Ryan never wishes for someone else's lunch. He's seems quite content with what I pack too.
For snack he got a small baggy of pretzels.
