lots of your children eat a lot at lunch time!! am jealous!!

my two teenage boys, have
chicken salad sandwich, ( 2 slices wholewheat bread)
a handful of pringles,
one oat cereal bar
one small orange,
one bottle of water
one carton of mango juice.

the younger children

plain chicken sandwich, ( 2 slices bread)
one yogurt,
some pringles
apple
cereal bar,
carton of mango juice.

William will come home with just the carton of juice, cereal bar and sandwiches eaten , on a good day, if I am lucky.

sunbutter sandwhich on WW bread
trix yogurt
pack of baby oranged
pack of cinnaspins GS cookies
juice box

We were running so late it was a fast dumping of whatever packaged items we could grab.

Dd will likely come home ravenous as well. I cannot feed her enough these days. She is 8, and in second grade and very lean and tall. She must be grwoing or about to. She has been drawn, feeling blah, complaining of tummy aches(we saw MD yesterday, no strep) and still eating like crazy. I am wondering if she feels yucky simply from not eating enough, or enough variety(she is very picky). Hard to feed a ravenous picky eater!

DS 9 1/2, picky, said yesterday's sandwich was pretty good, so... Smiley

1/2 large sandwich (homemade white bread, mayo, ketchup, brown mustard, 3 slices Purdue hickory smoked turkey)
red grapes
chocolate milk (which he probably won't drink, he didn't yesterday)
2 homemade sugar cookies
handful of corn chips

I'm going in to tally & pick up items for a food drive our Cub Scout Pack and school are doing so will stay to have lunch with him. Wanna bet he'll complain about the sandwich since I'm there? Smiley

You know it!

My kids are the same! Ds will eat all kinds of things in his lunch or for snack at school(no know allergies) they make together, but complains about everything these days at home. And, he was not my picky-by-nature eater. It is a learned behavior for him. Thanks big sis!

So today:

Pita bread with mozzarella cheese slices
Fruit Cocktail
Carrots
Fruit Leather
Milk - from school
Hostess Ho Ho
Pretzel Goldfish for snack

I cleaned out my pantry and tossed a lot of juice boxes since she doesn't want to take them to school anymore. I was ready to open them or give them to the food pantry when I noticed they had all expired! I guess I didn't realize the even had experation dates!

Love this thread...my DS is 7 and very picky and does not eat very much. I get very tired of throwing away food every day. I am sending less because he does not eat it anyway. Today was this:

1/2 Ham and mayo wrap
cheese stick
GoGurt
applesauce cup

He will probably eat 1 bite of the wrap, and a few bites of the applesauce. The rest will come home.

I like the new ideas. I am going to try some of your ideas here to see if I can get him to eat a bit more.

DS: pepperoni sandwich (yes, the only meat sandwich he'll eat), sour cream & onion potato chips, canned pears - oh, shoot, I forgot to pack his soy butter cookie because it was too warm last night and I was too sleepy this morning!

DD: turkey sandwich, broccoli & dip, canned pears, chocolate pudding.

Here is what we have packed for lunch

1)Pita bread cut into pieces and kids dip in salsa
2)Tuna taco, mix tuna, sour cream and a bit a salsa, put in a whole wheat wrap and sprinkle with cheese, roll and cut
3)Salad
4)Soup
5)Sandwiches
6) Veggies and dip
7)bagels
8) Melted cheese in a pita

That is all I can think of now. I also pack lots of fruits, applesausces, cheese strings, granola bars etc for snacks.

I can't really complain I don't have picky eaters. All 3 kids are great eaters.....
