Hi there,
My mom has recently been told to go on a gluten free diet. She used to be a big toast eater. Does anyone have a good brand of bread that she can buy? Also, any ideas on what she can eat for a quick breakfast when she's in a hurry?
Oh, she is avoiding dairy too!
Thanks,
Elena

DS - 10/30/05: walnut, pecan, egg, garlic.
Peanut just came out negative! We still avoid all peanuts and tree nuts.

DS loves Chex cereal - they have multiple GF flavors (though some have peanut and or nut protein).
We do grits, cream of rice and GF oatmeal as well.
I hear the frozen breads (Kinninnick) are good as well as Pamela's mixes. DS eats Light Brown Rice bread from Ener-G which he loves, the rest of us disagree.
Van's has GF waffles, french toast (dairy/egg free) and pancakes that both boys love. Nature's Path also has GF waffles. Ian's has GF French Toast sticks.
I love the Van's GF french toast - that one is super tasty.

The only GF breads that I ever thought tasted good were the ones I made myself. The texture of the store bought ones always tasted off to me.

I really like the frozen Glutino bread. It makes a GREAT grilled cheese sandwich.

We like gluten free pantry mixes. The French bread mix is dairy free (rea. d pkg of course)the directions state to make with milk or water and I make it with water (sometimes when my dairy allergic neice is visiting) and it tastes just fine. I freeze everything we won't eat in 2 days. Then I toast it right out of the freezer.
