Isn't it? I'm sure I read that somewhere on their website, and I'm sure I've seen people here say so...

trying to search up info now, and suddenly not finding anything w/r/t pn or other tree nuts. eek.

I am sneezing, congested, wheezy and have couple of hives on my face. I had a few bites of toast w/ Nutella.

I am not allergic to hazlenut.

okay, nevermind. I found the USA site and they do state that it does not contain peanuts or come into contact with peanuts during processing. I can't find the Canadian site though.

So tired of allergies!

"Does Nutella® contain any peanuts?
Nutella® hazelnut spread does not contain peanuts or peanut ingredients, nor does the product come in contact with peanuts during manufacturing."

This is from the Nutella website.

It doesn't flat out say that it's made in a peanut free facility though.

How are you feelingSmiley?

Thanks Fluffy; that is the same thing I just found. I guess I will call them tomorrow to be sure.

I'm already feeling better, just feeling foolish for failing to research better before trying the product.

Could it be that you are developing a hazlenut allergy. Smiley I sure hope not, but perhaps you should have it checked out before eating any more.

I've had problems with Nutella, too; I wasn't--and am not now--TNA, and this was before I developed OAS. This was years ago, though--it may well be that their processing has since changed, or that I was reacting to another ingredient.

Ciel, you have MFAs, right? What are you avoiding aside from peanuts?

I didn't get a chance to call today; it's on my list for next week.

Do NOT joke about a new allergy! I need to rule out every other possibility before I even allow that thought to cross my mind, lol.

Seriously though, hazelnuts are one of the only nuts that I haven't had a lifelong aversion to, and I ate them throughout my childhood and teens without problems.

I also avoid wheat, rye, barley, oats, egg, shellfish, tree nuts (allergic to cashew and pistachio), some fruits. Used to avoid sunflower seeds but seem to tolerate them now or maybe they were never the problem. But nuts seem like the most likely culprit with something like Nutella, don't they?

Many years ago, Nutella had peanut oil on the ingredient label. I remember I could not eat it when I was younger. This changed however, and it has not had any peanut ingredients for many years so it should be fine.

Hope you're feeling better Ciel
